Celtics and the All-sars

This year, the Boston Celtics have a brand new bag. I am talking about a new team with a new like and some brand new stars. Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. Yes this team is suppose to be the wreckoning of the Celtics when Larry Byrd flew them into the playoffs just about every year.

However, is it to much egos on one team? During preseason, Garnett, Allen, and Pierce had a interview with ESPN columnist Chris Broussard talking about how it is to balance the roles of the scoring role. They played it off real well speaking about all of them are friends and there won't be any problems and that they are professioals and friends. Nevertheless, all of them haas always been the star are their individual teams since they been in the league, until now.

Since the Celtics now have a great array of NBA's elite, they are a favorite to clinch the Eastern Division and make it to the Championship. Plus, their supporting cast is not to shabby with Eddie House, and Leon Powe are good role players to compliment the newly born trio.

They are currently undefeated in the preseason, leading into the regular season. Still having threats in the Eastern Conference like the New Jersy Nets, and the Detroit Piston, but it should be a fun and exciting season for the newly formed team. Celtics are finally getting their luck back.

That one Holiday that brings Love

Christmas time is a okay holiday because you receive all kind of present, but you never receive the one you ask Santa for on the Christmas list you worked so hard on, looking through all the catalogs for that perfect toy and what not.
Can’t forget about Thanks Giving, where we say what we are thankful for and an array of food that we stuff our faces with and watch the older folks watching football. However, that one dish that you have to taste from your aunt is sitting there, and everybody has to get a scoop so we won’t hurt her feelings.
The one holiday that wins hands down is Valentines Day. I say this because this is the one day that everybody is nice to everyone. When strangers open the door for a person and give them a nice big smile. The day when people in their cars let another over and gives a wave. Valentines is that day where the goodness comes out of people and everybody just smiles.
Love is definitely in the air. When children are in grammar school and find that Valentine’s card from that secret admirer, it starts that new relationship. Even for older people if waiting in a Starbucks line and a lady forgets her wallet and a gentleman just pays for her beverage, on Valentines Day that could be the start of a beautiful relationship.
Everybody wins on the day. It gives a reason for dull people to be romantic and spontaneous when they never have been.
There is no nasty food that people have to eat or a present that you never wanted in their life they have to take, it is just the opportunity for people just to think outside of the box in their relationship, or starting to a new one.
I have never experienced a bad Valentines Day even if I didn’t have anyone to spend it with. There have always been good experiences in my past and I always look forward to the next.
So don’t get me wrong, I love my Christmas’s and holidays like that, but there is something makes me feel good and brings love and smiles and new relationships and that is Valentines Day.

Marion Jones is a Liar

I usually write about the Sac State football team. However, I have been on this subject since I have heard about this unforunate event brought to track and field. Marion Jones just confessed that she has been taking steriods through her reign as the fastest woman in the world.
It hurts to hear a professional athlete that is already where you want to make it is cheating, young athletes start to think, "If they do it why shouldn't." She already made it! She is making millions of dollars! She was athe fastest, she desn't need to cheat. Now to save of her butt, she is going to tell on the other athletes that cheated because she lied under oath.
Yes, it is good for the sport to know who is pumping their muscle with drugs to win, but at the same time because you got caught don't be a snitch.
The ad thing is, this not the first time she has been introuble for steriods. When she was in high school at 1000 Oaks in LA she was introuble for missing a drugs test before the state championship. Being in college hearing cases like this and knowing some people like football players, track runners in college are taking anabolic steroids it takes away from the purity of watching the game or the competition that is going on because instead hearing "He is a pretty good athlete." people say, "Yeah, he is taking steriods."
There has also been a trend because all of he former husbanbs were on steriods as well. C.J. Hunter, and Micheal Montegomery. So there was a trend and that she was headed the the wrong way again.
Now Ms. Jones might lose five of her olympic gold medals, and she is realizing that cheating never prospers.

You Tube. Endless Possibilities

I really didn’t really discover You Tube until the destruction that Hurricane Katrina caused.

When FEMA did not help and President Bush was on vacation until the hurricane was over, there were all kind of political clips and tapes against Bush.

The first thing I saw a political rap against Bush and after that, my eyes were open to You Tube.

I am also am in a fraternity and I can see all kind of clips and film of step shows and events that we were in.

After that it I was open to all things from comedy clips to dance videos. You Tube has such an endless possibility of learning and seeing different types of things out there in the world.

It is like another news source without all of the rules and limitations as CNN and FOXNEWS.

It is always another way to get in touch and see what is going on in different states and countries.

However, for me it is sometimes hard to watch it because I do not have a computer and now earphones. When I clicked on the link to see our assignment, I had to call around to see if I can use one of my friends’ lab tops.

It also can ad to projects and assignments. A lot of my teachers use it for lectures and in my business classes it is always used for projects. It makes work easier for students as well as teachers.

It is hard to really experience “The Tube” without the proper equipment because you miss out on the sound and when there is know sound, usually there is know story you can so off of when a person is watching something.

It is like watching a television show on mute, trying to enjoy it.

The last thing I saw on the You Tube was a link connected to the link that was sent to us for our assignment. I was a 20second clip of this guy kissing and licking on this woman feet, and it is crazy because how does a weird guy kissing on a woman feet have any relation to a journalism assignment.

Endless possibilities.
